Teaching Style
I am an enthusiastic, friendly and patient piano teacher who aims to instil a love of music and piano playing in all my students. My teaching style is relaxed and fun and lessons are tailored to each individual as this approach ensures that the most progress is made and that students are motivated to practise. Parents and students alike have provided much positive feedback over the years which is always great to hear (see the Testimonials page for comments).
What I Teach
From Classical to Jazz, Blues to Pop, I am able to teach a range of styles and genres (refer to the About Me page).
Lessons are delivered on a Kemble upright acoustic piano.
Piano Exams
Preparing for and taking an exam can provide structure for some students motivate and inspire musicians to achieve a defined goal. To date all my students have passed their exams, the majority gaining high marks - merits or distinctions. I generally use the ABRSM syllabus for my piano students, and Rockschool and Trinity are also options.
On the other hand...
Some students prefer to get on and learn without worrying about taking any exams and that's fine too!
