Teaching Style

I am an enthusiastic, friendly and patient piano and keyboard teacher who aims to instil a love of music and of playing an instrument in all my students. My teaching style is relaxed and fun as this approach ensures that the most progress is made in lessons and that students are motivated to practise. Parents and students alike have provided much positive feedback over the years which is always gratifying to hear (see the Testimonials section for comments).

To date all my students have passed their exams, the majority gaining high marks - merits or distinctions. I generally use the ABRSM syllabus for my piano students and the Trinity College London syllabus for electronic keyboard students. Preparing for and taking an exam can motivate and inspire musicians to achieve a defined goal.

On the other hand...

Some students just prefer to get on and learn without worrying about taking any exams and that's fine too!

What I Teach

From Classical to Jazz, Blues to Pop, I am able to teach a range of styles and genres (refer to the About Me section).

Piano lessons are delivered on a Kemble upright acoustic piano and keyboard lessons on a 61 note Yamaha keyboard.
